In my art i want to tell personal stories, mine and from others, that reveal underlying emotions.
I do so by using handcrafted traditional weaving and quilting techniques.
/
I am attracted to textile craft, textile design and fashion because of their great social & cultural impact on individuals and communities. It speaks to the core of our being and to us expressing ourselves, revealing ourselves.
I also LOVE that the cultural heritage of textiles is a living tradition inherited from our ancestors and passed on to our descendants. It is about connecting. They can bare personal stories, memories, express a significant moment in time or give voice to social issues for ex.
/
I see the superpower textile designs can hold to influence our state of mind, to express our identities, our voices and play a role in evoking social change even.
There is a greater purpose to threads and i want to show it.
